St. James Hotel

I do believe the St. James is haunted. Historians say 26 people were gunned down in the hotel and there is probably a few more that aren’t accounted for. There are three people I know of that were shot at a neighboring establishment that managed to make it to the St. James and ended up dying there as well. Its history is literally woven into the fabric of its walls. After years of visiting ghost towns, hiking remote peaks, visiting cemeteries and having lived there (Chamita, Santa Fe & La Cienega), I’ve come to know Northern New Mexico quite well. If it’s in the cards, I’ll usually try and stop in Cimarron. Like the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, there’s just something about the St. James that I’m drawn to.

Of all the locations I have been to, the St. James Hotel in Cimarron, New Mexico is among my favorites.
